Photo essays

Herman Krieger sends me this link to his photo essays which create juxtapositions within the image that then mesh with a caption. The results offer some very interesting combinations. What's most impressive to me is how he found the elements to take photos of.

Up in Cleveland, a few blocks down from the Cleveland Institute of Art there used to be a building that housed an Armed Forces recruitment center right next to a fast-food hoagy joint. The sign read "Mr. Hero / Army Recruitment Center." I wish I'd had my camera when I saw that one. I always thought that the gov't picked that spot on purpose just for the subliminal message.

National Lampoon had a whole book of photos with similar-such juxtapositions as well.
